Mosi Kamau Kitwana is a former executive for national and international associations of mayors and local government chief executives, including the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the International City/County Management Association. His portfolio included advancing leading policies and practices for sustainability, public safety, and governance through technical assistance, training, and peer to peer learning around the world. He was also responsible for association and corporate partnership initiatives for business, environmental, and social responsibility.
Mosi Kamau served as a cabinet member for Harold Washington, Mayor, City of Chicago, leading sanitation and environmental services for the city. He was a member of the African Community of Chicago and a board member for the Institute of Positive Education and Third World Press which are also based there.
Mosi Kamau currently serves on the board of Body Wisdom/Interplay as well as the Community Healing Network. He was educated at Northeastern University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a husband, a father, a grandfather, and currently resides in Virginia.
